Dosage
Dosage is Based on the Child’s Weight and Age. A Typical Guideline for Ibuprofen Pediatric Suspension (100 mg/5 mL) is:
6–11 Months (5-7.9 kg): 2.5 mL Every 6-8 Hours
1–3 Years (8-10.9 kg): 5 mL Every 6-8 Hours
4–6 Years (11-15.9 kg): 7.5 mL Every 6-8 Hours
7–9 Years (16-19.9 kg): 10 mL Every 6-8 Hours
10–11 Years (20-29.9 kg): 15 mL Every 6-8 Hours
Maximum Daily Dose: Should not Exceed 30 mg/kg/day
Do not Administer for More than 3 Days for Fever or 5 Days for Pain unless Directed by a Doctor
Contraindications
I-Profen Pediatric Suspension should not be used in children with:
- Allergy to Ibuprofen, Aspirin, or other NSAIDs
- History of Asthma, Urticaria, or Allergic Reactions After NSAID Use
- Severe Kidney or Liver Disease
- Stomach Ulcers or Gastrointestinal Bleeding
- Dehydration Due to Vomiting or Diarrhea
- Congenital Heart Disease or Certain Blood Disorders (Consult a Doctor First)
